Clapham Community Choir is a friendly and enthusiastic choir of diverse voices. It is open to everybody, whatever your level of ability or experience, and there are no auditions.
The choir is led by music director Adam Saunders, and we sing a wide range of music in a variety of musical styles – from classical to pop, folk, jazz, musicals and soul.
We usually perform concerts two or three times a year in local venues, and also take part in wider community projects. In recent years we have performed with other choirs in the Royal Festival Hall, been recorded by Radio 3, and got involved in a theatre production at the Young Vic.
There are no auditions to join the choir – everyone is welcome. And you do not have to be able to read music, as the choir learns in a variety of ways, by listening, understanding and singing together. There is a great range of musical experience within the choir, and the emphasis is on enjoying music together in a friendly and supportive environment.
New members are always welcome, so feel free to drop in at one of our weekly rehearsals, or email us if you would like more information.
The choir meets on Tuesday evenings from 7.30pm to 9pm at St Paul’s Church, Rectory Grove, London SW4 0DX. There is a charge of £7 per week, but the first session is free for new members.
